Cookies Anyone?

Last Tuesday was our regular day to teach card making at WFSC.  Susan Quindry, one of our executive board members was there and was gracious enough to send the following recount of the day.

What a wonderful day we had on yesterday (Tues March 18, 2014).  An anonymous donor through the Girl Scout Troop #17417 of Katy, TX and the Ephraim Andrews Chapter of the DAR of Fredericksburg, TX donated 800 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to be distributed to active military at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.

We enlisted our volunteers to come with us and help with the distribution.  Richard Gray and Bobbi Grimmer along with Sharon Massey, Stacy Johnson, Rhonda Strelke, and Susan Quindry made the deliveries.  The cookies were distributed to Fisher House, The Intrepid, the 4th floor burn unit of BAMC hospital, Navy, Marine, Powless Hotel, the barracks and Warrior Family Support Center (WFSC).

While the distribution was going on, Lisa Davis was conducting a card making class at WFSC for the wives of the wounded warriors.  Lunch was provided by the Wounded Warrior at Nebo ministry and fun was had by all.

What a beautiful day we enjoyed surrounded by the special people who serve our country to give us our freedom.  THANK YOU!
